Victorian Lawn Tea with Victrola DJ MAC
Sunday, May 17, 1:30 - 3:30pm
We’ve set back the clock to the start of the last century and invite you to partake of this Victorian-inspired afternoon.
In the early 1900s Victrolas were a popular way to enjoy music at home. Recordings offered the range of musical styles and voices for listening, sing-along, and dancing. If you’ve visited the Voelker Orth Museum, you’ve likely heard one playing in the parlor.
DJ MAC brings his crank-up horned antique phonographs with music from his collection of vintage recordings. There’s tea. a Maiibowle German seasonal punch, sweet and savory finger food, and the garden setting for what promises to be a lively afternoon.
If it rains, the party moves indoors. Attendees are encouraged to dress in period attire.

Abstract Reality: Greta Jaklitsch Photographs
Opening Reception: Sept 24, 2-4pm
Unaltered, unfiltered, a glimpse of the world around us, Greta Jaklitsch photographs with 35mm film. Jaklitsch was one of the first artists shown at the Museum and this exhibition is a 20th Anniversary event.
Many of her most striking images are captured in parks, on walks, and observing things that are here in Queens. This exhibition brings together images that explore pattern or playfully abstract composition.
